'BOYS'

‘BOYS’ is a fashion campaign I have built to broaden the representation of men in mass media. ‘BOYS’ is working to eliminate that stereotypical box that society traps you in no matter your identity or representation. My aim with this project was to show different men in media so misrepresentation can be a term in the past. THERE IS MORE THAN ONE WAY TO BE A BOY This rooted from my personal struggle to find true representation of a gay man in mass media, it was either eroticised or extremely flamboyant. I wanted to broaden the representation for not just gay men but for all men in mass media. This campaign fights its argument with the theme of the historic all-male association with sailors.

'BOYS' was collaboration at it's best- becoming huger than I ever expected.

I represented this new perspective to masculinity further than just photoshoots, we organised a catwalk to open the campaign and also represented how masculinity can be shown through simple styling in a dance video.

The historic all male environment of sailors was a huge inspiration for the theme of this campaign, it's male dominant scenes translated into the casting and styling of this projet, taking inspirations on who did it best - Jean Paul Gaultier.

Respectfully stepping away from what has been done before to bring a sense of uniqueness to this campaign.

The music video has two layers to it, below the images you will find a smaller teaser trailer that accumulates the vibe of the extended video.
